D-501Your data
Your plans stay yours.
Contractors trust you with their drawings. DimSum is built so that trust never leaves your building unless you send it.
On your disk Built
Each job is a folder with the job's name, holding one .dsum file and an Exports folder, wherever you choose: your drive, a server share, a backup you already run.
No AI reads your plans Built
There's no automatic AI takeoff, and your drawings are never sent anywhere to be read by one. Every quantity comes from something an estimator drew and can check.
Clean crash reports Built
Crash reports and usage statistics are opt-in, and never include plan content or project data.
Encrypted job files Built
Each .dsum is encrypted with its own key, so other programs can't read your takeoff.
Files bound to accounts Coming
A file carries keys for its owner and for the people it's shared with. Copy it to someone else's computer and it won't open unless it was shared with them.
Yours if you leave Coming
Close your account and "Download all my data" unlocks every file you own for viewing. A view-only viewer comes later.
Signed in, and what that means.
At the commercial release, DimSum runs signed in to your Planbase account. The account tracks your license, your seat and your machines.
Signing in doesn't upload your jobs. If your connection drops, DimSum keeps working for 30 days and tells you plainly each time it opens whether it's online or offline. Nothing syncs while it's offline.
Coming with accountsComing
Sync and sharing, on your terms.
Cloud sync. Back up jobs, tools, reports and settings to your account and pull them down on another computer. You choose what syncs, type by type.
Share, on purpose. A Share button on tools, reports, materials, lists and jobs sends them to a person by email or account, or to your Workspace. Moving a job to another company's Workspace is a hand-over through the same button.
The web remote session connects to your own computer, not to a copy of your work in the cloud.
What your customers get.
Customers get what they need, not your working file: reports as PDF or CSV, and marked-up plans. Your formulas, prices and tools stay with you.
One person edits a job at a time; anyone else who opens it sees who has it.
