G-001Planbase Estimating
Software for estimators, built by an estimator.
Planbase makes desktop tools for the people who turn plan sets into quantities and bids. Fast on big jobs, honest about what they do, and priced so every estimator on the desk gets a seat.

Mark up the plan. Take off the job. Print the set.
DimSum Takeoff is as good at plan markup as it is at takeoff. Dimension Lines, clouds, highlights, notes and stamps sit on the same sheet as your walls and areas, and they print together.
Every measurement drives parts through formulas you can read, so the materials list moves when the drawing does.
Why DimSum
Four things it's built around.
Plan markup
Dimension Lines, clouds, highlights, text, notes and stamps. Lengths and labels on the takeoff. Walls printed at their real width.
Speed
A Rust core and sheets drawn on your graphics card. Big plan sets pan smoothly, and a joist area lays out in milliseconds.
One edition
Every feature, for every estimator, at a lower price than the takeoff software you're probably used to. No trade packs, no add-ons to unlock the good parts.
Built by an estimator
Planbase is run by an estimator who takes off plans every working day. The tools come from that desk.
How we build
Four rules every Planbase product follows.
Your files stay yours
Jobs live on your own disk. Plans are never read by anyone's AI, and never show up in a crash report. If you stop paying, your data is still yours.
Speed is a feature
Every build is measured against written speed targets, on plan sets from single-family to large multifamily. A build that gets slower doesn't ship.
Honest about status
Every feature on this site says whether it's Built in the test builds or Coming. No invented customers, no pictures of things that don't exist.
A seat for every estimator
One edition with every feature, priced per person, so nobody on the desk shares a login to save money.

Made in Kansas City.
Planbase Estimating LLC is run by Zac Brewer, an estimator who has spent years taking off plans every working day.
The software comes out of that work: the tools he wanted and couldn't buy. DimSum is in private testing now, and estimators in the beta hear first when it's ready.
