D-301Lumber yards and dealers
Designed around the yard estimating desk.
Yards take off everything a building needs, often on multifamily sets that run to hundreds of sheets, on a deadline set by somebody else's bid date. DimSum was designed around that desk first.
It works for any trade, so framing, siding, roofing, insulation, drywall, doors and windows can all live in one job.
Big sets, one job Built
The whole plan set and every item in one job. Sheets grouped by level, items that run across sheets, and background pre-rendering so a 200-sheet set doesn't make you wait twice.
Framing that counts itself Built
The Joist tool lays out joists at O.C. from the edge you click, with rim board, sheathing and hangers. The Beam tool orders real stock lengths. The Wall tool is next Coming.
Your yard's lumber lists Built
Import your own lists as CSV. Advanced Parts pick the right SKU by species, size and length, and flag it when nothing on the list fits.
Your yard's tools Built
Tools with your formulas, in a library file you control and copy to every estimator. Change a tool and your jobs are offered the update.
Count sheets the counter can read Built
Design the material list in the Report Designer, in Courier if that's what the yard is used to, and print it or export PDF and CSV.
Out to the counter Coming
Export profiles that map a report straight into the columns your point-of-sale or ERP import expects.
A marked-up plan for the contractor Built
Send the customer the marked-up sheets, with Dimension Lines, clouds and notes, so they see what you took off.
The company's reports, everywhere Coming
Build the yard's report once and share it to the Workspace defaults folder. Every estimator has it.
/shots/count-sheet.png3440 × 1400A seat for every estimator.
When a seat is expensive, estimators share one. At $400 per added seat, everyone gets their own.
Every seat has every feature, and each is active on 2 machines, so desktop and laptop both work. Only the Workspace admin adds seats.
| Desk size | Per year | Per month, about |
|---|---|---|
| 1 estimator | $600 | $50 |
| 2 estimators | $1,000 | $83 |
| 3 estimators | $1,400 | $117 |
| 4 estimators | $1,800 | $150 |
| 5 estimators | $2,200 | $183 |
| 6 estimators | $2,600 | $217 |
| 8 estimators | $3,400 | $283 |
| 10 estimators | $4,200 | $350 |
Customers' plans stay in your building.
Contractors send plans to a yard on trust. DimSum keeps them on your machines: no AI reads them, and crash reports never carry plan content. Customers get reports and marked-up plans, never your working file.
Not a yard?
Subcontractors and general contractors use the same tools. The framing smarts are tools on top of a core that assumes nothing about your trade; build your own for concrete, roofing, low-voltage or landscaping.
